Overview
Energy Planning Section Supervisor – Department of Environmental Quality, Montana.
Responsibilities
* Guide state energy planning activities and lead DEQ participation in utility resource planning and reviews.
* Represent Montana energy priorities in regional electricity transmission planning and market development forums.
* Plan and manage energy supply emergencies and energy security.
* Plan for electric vehicles and alternative fuels.
* Analyze and track energy policy, developing and maintaining information resources for policymakers, stakeholders and the public, including energy statistics, maps, and reports.
* Implement wind and solar facility bonding and decommissioning requirements.
* Oversee day‐to‐day operations of the Section's programs, managing personnel, budgets, and program funding in compliance with statutory and funding source requirements.
* Develop and coordinate annual work plans; provide meaningful feedback; manage professional growth and career advancement of staff.
* Implement policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous business process improvement.
* Build stakeholder relationships among diverse interest groups, seeking mutually beneficial solutions.
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education.
* Three years of progressively responsible experience, including demonstrated leadership or supervision.
* Preferred experience with business and management principles related to planning, resource allocation, prioritization, human resources management, leadership techniques, coordination of people and resources, and stakeholder outreach communication skills.
* Preferred education or experience in the program area.
* Might require a current valid driver's license and a clean driving record in accordance with the State of Montana Vehicle Use Policy.
