Join the HBNC team as a Finance Support Officer, supporting the financial and administrative operations of the organisation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The goal of this role is to support the effective financial management of HBNC through completing daily bookkeeping processes, accounts payable and receivable, fleet co-ordination, payroll administration and excellent service to clients, customers and service residents of HBNC. The role will also include supporting the operations of HBNC through ad-hoc administrative duties.
The Finance Support Officer is responsible for completing banking, invoicing and filing for debtors and creditor accounts, supporting end-of-month reconciliations, assisting with payroll and petty cash and data entry into MYOB. The Finance Support Officer will also provide support to the Finance Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
* Performing bank reconciliations, petty cash and donation tracking
* Managing accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing and invoicing using MYOB
* Assisting with journal entries, payment runs and end-of-month reporting
* Supporting audit preparation and liaising with customers and suppliers
* Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation
* Administering fleet bookings, staff phones and asset registers
* Supporting the finance team with general administration and technology implementation
ABOUT YOU
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, has strong MYOB and Excel skills, and enjoys balancing finance tasks with broader operational support.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Excellent computer and administration skills with knowledge of Excel, Outlook and Word.
* Demonstrated experience in using MOYB
* Demonstrated experience in working in a finance office
* Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
* Current C class driver's license
* Children's Commission Blue Card

The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre was founded 1989 as a community-based initiative to provide help, friendship and support to the most disenfranchised people in the community. The emphasis of all of our activities is on people and the relief of issues and concerns that impede them from living a successful and happy life.
We develop and deliver programs and services in response to community need. Presently, the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre manages 30 funded programs that encompass aspects of aged care, family services, diversity and social isolation.
