Located approximately 2.5 hours from Hobart and Launceston, the property features 18 rooms across two heritage industrial buildings, transformed into an intimate retreat within World Heritage wilderness. What you’ll do:
We are seeking a skilled Food and Beverage Supervisor to join our team at Pumphouse Point on a full-time basis. Your role will be to enhance the food & beverage experience for our guests, supporting your team to ensure daily operations meet the highest standards.
Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the Highland buffet breakfast, in-room larder picnic-style lunches, and three-course dinners in the dining room. You will seek opportunities to elevate the guest experience by showcasing local Tasmanian products and upskilling your team.
You will also curate and manage a range of specialized tasting events, including wine, cocktail, and whiskey tastings. Extensive knowledge and a keen interest in this field are essential.
What you’ll bring:
* Strong leadership experience in food and beverage service
* Excellent customer service skills and the ability to engage guests in meaningful conversations
* A vibrant attitude and ability to work effectively within a busy team
* Passion and ability to train, coach, and mentor team members
* Knowledge of current food and service trends and culinary styles
* Broad knowledge of wine varieties and food and wine pairing skills
* Experience in stock management, ordering, and invoicing
* Rostering experience
* A valid driver’s license and access to a car are essential, given the remote location.
