Group Training Organisation (GTO) Field Officer
All Aspects Recruitment & HR Services are recruiting now for a GTO Field Officer. Even though based in Darwin you will need to undertake regular travel via small charter and possible one night stay each fortnight. After a period, some travel may possibly reduce some days.

The organisation is the employment, training, and allied education services for the local residents of community. Our programs facilitate employment and education outcomes and support the community to reach their potential through the delivery of the Remote Australia Employment Service Program (RAES), Registered Training Organisation (RTO), Group Training Organisation (GTO) and the School Support Services Program (TSSS).
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The GTO Field Officer is responsible for the day-to-day support and progress of Trainees and Apprentices who are working towards qualification and completion of their trade or occupation. This involves face to face, and remote support of both the trainee/apprentice, their employer and the training organisation that is delivering the Training Plan. The position requires high motivation and the ability to influence and facilitate employment and training outcomes that increase the number of qualified people progressively.
Key Responsibilities
* Travel on a regular basis to both two Islands to provide ongoing support to Trainees, Apprentices and School based apprentices.
* Make regular contact with trainees, employers and their training providers and work with them to build their capacity to undertake their workload and their study requirements to increase the likelihood of completion.
* Promote a high level of Work Health Safety awareness at the workplace for all Trainees/Apprentices.
* Work with a range of external and internal stakeholders to build strong working relationships that profile the benefits of having qualified staff for local employers.
* Record and capture documentary evidence that the Trainee/Apprentice is meeting benchmarks in accordance with their respective Training Plan.
* Build a comprehensive network of Training Organisations and support logistical requirements for study blocks where appropriate.
* Record accurate data in a timely manner and in accordance with set Group Training standard compliance requirements.
* Providing information and reports as per required by Management.
* Promote and participate in meetings, training and development as required.
Selection Criteria
* At least 4 years in a similar role, industry experience and firsthand knowledge of the Group Training Standards and related legislation
* High level of customer service and awareness of cross culture in a remote community setting
* Proven ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
* Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
* The willingness to work in with other sections of the organisation.
* Work as part of a large team working towards the same goals
* Desirable
* Certificate IV in Employment Services/Community services or relevant qualification and or industry experience to it’s equivalent
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
* Fully signed up caseload of Trainees Apprentices
* Comprehensive data that captures all aspects of GTO activity
* Demonstrated compliance with GTO standards through work resources
* High Employer and Training Provider engagement
* 70-80% Completions
Criminal History Check
Applicants must supply evidence of a recent Australian Federal Police criminal history check and/or be prepared to undergo one if short-listed for interview.
Staff Responsibilities may be varied in order to allow the Unit to respond to operational needs or requirements.
Working with Vulnerable People Clearance (Ochre Card)
We are a community organisation which serves children, from early childhood 4 -18 years of age. Current Northern Territory Ochre Card is an essential requirement of employment in all sections of TITEB.
