Senior Associate - Property and Development (Sydney)
As part of Russell Kennedy's continued growth of our Retirement Living (RV) practice, we are seeking to appoint a Senior Associate in our Sydney office.
This role sits within our Property & Development (P&D) team.
The role offers diverse and engaging work, opportunities for direct client interaction, and the chance to contribute to a growing, purpose-driven national team.
You'll work on complex and meaningful matters across a broad range of Sydney-based transactional and RV matters.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial mindset, excellent technical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment.
We're seeking a self-motivated professional who is eager to grow and evolve into a key member of our Property & Development team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Work closely with Principals on a broad range of Sydney-based transactional and Retirement Living (RV) matters.
Manage retirement living (RV) transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, leasing, and development work.
Provide high-quality drafting and advice transactional matters and due diligence.
Run complex commercial, industrial, retail and residential property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, major project work and leasing matters.
Contribute to business development and marketing initiatives to support the continued growth of the Sydney P&D practice.
Supervision and mentoring of staff including lawyers, law clerks and non-legal staff.
Support ISO ***** compliance by role-modeling information security best practices, ensuring employees, contractors and suppliers understand their information security responsibilities, and promoting appropriate training and awareness.
Skills / Experience
A successful applicant will have:
Minimum 5 years' post-admission across property transactions, retirement villages, commercial and retail leasing, project work, or related areas with a strong commercial mindset and practical approach.
Strong experience in commercial drafting and managing complex transactional files end-to-end.
Well-developed initiative, with a demonstrated ability to think critically and strategically.
