Strategic Risk and Assurance Expert
The Risk and Assurance Directorate delivers high-level audit and risk management expertise to support a broad client need across the Department.
To provide assurance to the Director General and the Audit and Risk Committee that the Department's financial and operational controls are operating efficiently, effectively, economically and ethically, we seek an individual who can assist management in improving the Department's business performance.
This role requires undertaking a governance function for the Department's externally available policies and delegations, and leading the delivery of policy governance or audit and analytics initiatives as part of potential vacancies arising during the pool period.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-level advice on policy governance and audit planning, execution, and reporting.
* Lead strategic development, implementation, and review of the Department's policy governance framework and delegation instruments.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to manage approvals, support policy owners, and promote best practice in policy development and implementation.
* Integrate data analytics into assurance activities and enhance audit methodologies.
* Support evidence-based decision making with stakeholder engagement and oversight of audit projects.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Extensive experience in policy governance or audit and analytics within a public sector or similarly complex environment.
* Strong client service mindset with ability to provide advice and guidance to staff at all levels.
* Highly developed oral and interpersonal communication skills suitable for high-level consultations and collaborations.
