Contributes to achievement of the objectives and outcomes of the Launceston General Hospital Operational Plan, including the delivery of Access and Patient Flow program priorities, projects and workplan activities.Supports the efficient and effective provision of innovation and integrated care models, based on clinical standards and best practice principles within a collaborative and multi-disciplinary framework.Works closely with the internal and external stakeholders to develop, manage and implement strategies, projects, plans and processes to ensure the delivery of Integrated Operations Centre Operational Plan.Identify and understand contemporary health service demand, issues and challenges specific to Hospitals North and specify solutions (people, processes and technology) that meet business requirements and deliver measurable benefits.

The Team:

TheNurse Manager - Access and Patient Flow (Hospitals North) works as part of the team in the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) at the LGH. The IOC is thecoordination hub that ensures the right person receives the right care in the most appropriate setting. The IOC encompassesintegrated services that work collaboratively to ensure a smooth patient journey across the continuum to ensureimproved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

This primary purpose of this role is thedelivery of Access and Patient Flow program priorities, projects and workplan activitiesthroughout THS North in line with the IOC operational plan. This is a job share position working 3 days per month with working days and hours negotiable. Experience in Project Management and/or Change management is desirable.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to12 hours per fortnight, commencing from the 16 February 2026.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $122,365 to $129,060 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Salary Packaging:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

Relevant postgraduate qualifications in project management or clinical redesign

A minimum of 5 years of acute clinical experience

Previous experience in management or leadership roles

Patient Access and Flow experience
