Position Title: EL1 Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Employment Type: Labour hire - approx. 6 months with potential to extend
Location: Canberra, ACT
Hourly Pay Rate: Negotiable, dependent on experience
Security Clearance/Requirements: Baseline Clearance (preferred)
Working Arrangements: Full-time hours with hybrid arrangements available
ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to provide high-level technical expertise on a major Network Project within a leading federal government agency. The successful candidate will act as a dedicated escalation point, offering expert guidance on Fortinet SD-WAN, FortiGate, Azure NVA deployments, FortiClient, FortiSASE, and FortiSandbox.
You will play a critical role in resolving complex technical issues, maintaining project momentum, and ensuring the seamless deployment and ongoing performance of the agency's secure network infrastructure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide advanced technical support and escalation services for network infrastructure components.
* Deliver expert advice on Fortinet technologies, Azure Cloud Infrastructure, and network security configurations.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues to ensure project continuity.
* Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
* Map and document data movements across network zones and cross-domain environments.
* Create and maintain detailed network diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
* Communicate technical and strategic information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Extensive experience working within secure ICT environments.
* Demonstrated expertise in:
o Azure Cloud Infrastructure
o FortiGate Firewalls
o Fortinet SD-WAN
o Fortinet Azure NVA deployments
o FortiClient, FortiSASE, and FortiSandbox
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.
* Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
* Proven ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
ELIGIBILITY
* Australian Citizenship is essential.
* Baseline Security Clearance preferred (or the ability to obtain one).
