We are currently seeking Home & Garden Maintenance Workers to join our Support at Home team in the Huon Valley, Kingborough, and Channel regions.
What you'll do:
As a Home & Garden Maintenance Worker, you will help older people maintain safe, comfortable, and accessible homes. Your work enables clients to live independently in their own environment. Duties may include:
* Home maintenance – minor non-trade repairs like fixing door handles, replacing lightbulbs, securing loose flooring
* Pathway safety – ensuring driveways and entry points are hazard-free
* Garden & lawn care – mowing, weeding, trimming, pruning, and seasonal clean-ups
* External cleaning – windows, pathways, verandas, gutters (within safe reach), and waste management
* Client interaction – working respectfully in clients' homes, observing safety concerns, and encouraging participation where appropriate
* Safety & reporting – following WHS procedures, using tools safely, and maintaining accurate records
What we're looking for:
* Experience in home maintenance, gardening, or landscaping (formal or informal)
* Ability to perform manual and physically demanding tasks
* Basic knowledge of hand tools, garden equipment, and minor home repairs
* Friendly, respectful and trustworthy with strong communication skills
* Ability to work independently and manage your time well
* Understanding of workplace safety, WHS and infection control measures
* Current Working with Vulnerable People Card
* Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
* National Police Check (within 3 months of employment)
Desirable (not essential):
Previous experience in aged care, disability support, or community services
Technical skills in basic carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work (non-licensed)
Training in horticulture or maintenance
