As a skilled Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on rolling stock according to production plans and policies.
1. Perform routine inspections and tests to diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components, including HVAC systems, using schematics.
2. Inspect bodywork, roofs, and undercarriages for wear or damage, identifying potential issues before they become major problems.
3. Carry out warranty work, repairs, or replacements of components and parts, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Australian Trade Diploma in Electrotechnology or Mechanical Fitting; Certification III required. Electrical License or dual electrical/mechanical trade highly desirable.
* Experience in Rail, Rolling Stock, Light Rail, Bus, Automotive, Earth Moving, or Heavy Diesel Fitting; a strong understanding of technical drawings and documentation.
* Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, and maintain detailed records of work completed.
