About Us?
The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The Quality and Innovation Unit provides leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of plans, programs, models, and policies for improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Well- being. The Unit will develop and manage to maturity enhanced service delivery models in new and expanded functional IUIH services and programs.
About the Role?
We are seeking a highly organised Administration Support Officer to join our Palliative and End-of-Life Care team. This role is central to the operational efficiency of our pods, requiring a candidate who can balance rigorous calendar management with culturally sensitive family liaison.
Based primarily in Brendale, you will optimise our palliative and end-of-life care pathways and take a lead role in the coordination of wayfaring initiatives and community education. This is an opportunity to move beyond routine administration and contribute to a service model that prioritises dignity, culture and care.
The position will also be responsible for coordinating intake for new referrals, organise client data and medical billing processes and provision of general administrative support to the team, IUIH Network members and clients.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
* Perform with limited supervision a broad range of administrative support functions including organising forms, files, program materials and educational handouts.
* Managing the intake process for new referrals, ensuring all documentation is accurate, and communicating clearly internal and external providers
* Overseeing medical billing processes and maintaining high quality client records to support the sustainability of the service
* Coordinating and booking transports for clients to ensure accessibility to appointments
* Managing complex team calendars, scheduling internal and external meetings and preparing for weekly pod and monthly team meetings.
* Taking an active role in monitoring deadlines and assisting with audits to ensure the service meets the highest standards of safety
* Provide general admin support to the Team and other services including responding to enquiries, typing, photocopying, scanning and uploading, compilation of materials/folders, extracting and compiling data, preparing resources for program activities and ensuring supplies have been ordered to ensure the pods are always equipped.
* Respond to clients in distress or crisis calmly and sensitively, seeking appropriate assistance as necessary to best support the client, yourself, and those around you
About You?
* Current CPR Certificate
* Current Criminal History Check
* Current Blue Card (prior to commencement).
* Current Yellow Card (prior to commencement).
Desirable, but not mandatory:
* Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
