The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists within Metropolitan Youth Health (MYH) for a Youth Health Worker to join the team as a Young Men/Young Fathers Worker on a full time, temporary contract up until 31 Dec 2023.
The Youth Health Worker position is part of the Young Parent's Program within Metropolitan Youth Health (MYH) and provides support to young men/young fathers who are at risk of using violence or coercive control in their relationships.
To be successful in this role, you will;
1. Engage with young men and young fathers who are dis-advantaged and/or vulnerable to access and navigate through specialised primary health care services.
2. Develop and deliver quality outcomes for clients through the provision of youth health care services within a therapeutic counselling approach, and group work aligned to the Metropolitan Youth Health Model of Care.
3. Improve service access and outcomes for young people and young pregnant and parenting people through working in partnership with young people and their families and in collaboration with other health professionals and government and community agencies.
