News Corp Australia's News Sport team is looking for an ambitious sports reporter to join its fast-paced, digitally-focused newsroom.
We require someone to work from the newsroom of Brisbane's Courier Mail and join our agenda-setting Queensland masthead as part of Australia's most influential media organisation.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and innovative individual who is passionate about sport and can deliver engaging, high-quality and compelling content which matters to readers.
The best candidate will be confident and skilled in news gathering, have a solid grasp of social media and be able to go beyond results and match reports to uncover original stories and exclusive insights.
We are seeking someone with a passion for sport at all levels – from local, to regional, to national and international.
Previous sports writing experience is desirable.

Source and create compelling local sport stories which resonate with our audience
Break exclusive news stories from a variety of local sports
Deliver relevant content that both engages our existing subscribers and attracts new readers
Work under deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment
Focus on online engagement and drive subscription growth
Demonstrate initiative to search for stories that are not already breaking and identify unique angles that drive conversation and move the story forward
Digest digital data and use it in planning content
