Clinical Nurse Consultant - Bone Marrow Transplant Coordinator
This is a Fixed-Term Full-Time position (12-month contract) for a Clinical Nurse Consultant in the Haematology Multidisciplinary Team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide individual client-centred consultancy and assessment of patients' physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs throughout their journey continuum for complex haematological malignancies progressing to allogeneic Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT).
* Assess and monitor patient outcomes and coordinate referrals across specialties within the Hunter New England Local Health District and other Local Health Districts as needed.
* Provide a consultancy service across specialties, inclusive of general practice services and other community services on the complex healthcare needs of patients pre and post Allo-HSCT and specialty vaccinations within the Hunter New England Local Health District.
* Provide expert clinical leadership and consultancy for complex haematological patients' treatment regimens, tissue typing and donor selection within the facility, Hunter New England Local Health District, and the state.
* Provide mentorship to haematology nurses within the facility, Hunter New England Local Health District, and state-wide.
About You:
* You must be a Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice with APRHA, with demonstrated extensive experience and knowledge of Haematology and Allogeneic Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (Allo-HSCT) applied in a mixed clinical environment and/or across a range of services.
* You must have at least five years postgraduate nursing with 3 years specialty experience in Oncology/Haematology and postgraduate qualification (preferably Masters Level) related to Oncology/Haematology or evidence of working towards the same.
* You must be able to communicate clinical concepts and information to non-clinical audiences and provide authoritative advice on clinical issues within the field of expertise.
* You must have advanced analytical and problem-solving ability to break down complex problems and develop a range of solutions based on specialist expert knowledge of Haematology and Allo-HSCT.
* You must have the capacity to evaluate current clinical practice within Haematology and Allo-HSCT and recommend improvements to avoid potential problems or minimise impacts on the organisation.
