About this role:
This role is responsible for managing and guiding a team of Data Engineers to prepare data for analytical or operational use by creating business unit specific Data Marts within the data warehouse. Competent in ensuring that data is accessible, optimize analysis opportunities for the enterprise, designing and building systems for collecting, storing, and analyzing data at scale.
Responsibilities of this position:
* Unique responsibilities across management and Azure data engineering.
* Manage analytics and applications to integrate, consolidate and cleanse data to load into a structure for use in reporting applications. ETL (extract, transform, and load) on the Azure platform using Azure Synapse Link and ADF pipelines
* Work in a variety of settings to build systems that collect, manage, and convert raw data into usable information for business owners to interpret.
* Learn and develop datasets that align with business needs and creating data models (data marts) that can be accessed by BI Systems Analysts as well as end users for report creation.
* Manage Data Quality and Velocity for production datasets.
* Able to transform data into useful, actionable information.
* Collaboration with leadership to understand department reporting objectives.
* Working with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that accumulate data, alleviate cumbersome manual processes, and ensure financial results are accurate.
* Identifying process improvement opportunities.
* Supporting dimension management, metadata design/maintenance, ETL development, and data validation processes.
* Delivering reliable, scalable, and efficient business solutions by supporting all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, modeling and design, development, testing, deployment, integration, and documentation.
* Experience in Power BI Architecture and development - Ability to apply scalable and high-performance Power BI architecture for enterprise reporting needs
* Help define best practices for enterprise data modelling, report development and visualization
Skills and Experience:
* Skill Level III – BS/BA or Technical Degree
* Skill Level II – 5-7 years of experience with Azure and Power Platform with emphasis on Power BI
* Skill Level I – 3+ years of management experience with teams on the MS suite of data products
* Power Platform – Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Agents, PBI Paginated Reports
* Azure - Azure SQL Server, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks, Fabric
* Machine Learning Data Modelling – Conceptual, Logical and Physical Reports Migration – Cognos to Power BI, Qlik to Powe BI, SSRS to Power BI
* Data Migration – D365 F&O to Azure SQL, Heterogeneous source systems to Azure SQL
* AI – Machine Learning, Generative AI
* Scripting Languages – Python, C#, Java Script
* Management – 3-5 years management experience, Team Lead, Project Manager, Scrum Master, Customer Engagements, Business Workshop
