Support Engineer
Employment: Permanent full‐time
Location: Botany, NSW (near Sydney Airport)
Role Summary: Provide support engineering services in MRO environments, quality control, maintenance, reliability, and cost analysis for defence communications.
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Develop and maintain technical documentation for system configuration, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, integration, and testing.
* Define, maintain, and improve product‐line maintenance processes to ensure maximum efficiency while meeting quality standards.
* Provide technical guidance and support to the SEDA operations teams, helping them overcome challenges and ensuring MRO processes meet design/maintenance specifications.
* Manage implementation, upkeep, and optimization of support & test equipment, including commissioning, adaptation, calibration, and maintenance activities.
* Support the development and implementation of support system specifications that address all phases of a system's lifecycle.
* Define and maintain inventory requirements.
* Conduct RAMS assessments on supported products to identify potential weaknesses and improve design/maintenance programs, optimizing overall life‐cycle cost.
* Develop training materials and programs.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by SEDA management.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering or relevant experience.
* Minimum of 2 years as a production support engineer or similar in an industrial or defence environment.
* Practical experience with technical processes and procedures for production assembly or MRO activities.
* Proven experience in executing lean and/or Six Sigma activities with positive outcomes.
* Experience in technical documentation and processes in accordance with QA standards AS/NZS ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.
* Skills and knowledge in service and repair processes and relevant quality management frameworks (airworthiness/seaworthiness).
* High-level competency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access, Project).
* Knowledge of defence standards, specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Knowledge of defense systems and their technical requirements.
* Analytical skills for data analysis in maintenance, reliability, and cost optimisation.
