Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre - Logistics & Receiving Operator
We're preparing to open the doors to our brand new Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre. An exciting space designed to bring people together through creativity, innovation, and unforgettable experiences. As we gear up for opening day, we're looking for enthusiastic and reliable casual team members to help us support test events and form the new Logistics & Receiving team. Set to open in July 2026 on the Geelong Waterfront, Nyaal Banyul will be Australia's newest convention and event centre. Operated by the Victorian Convention and Event Trust (VCET), this premier venue features a 1,000-seat theatre and 3,700 square meters of versatile event space, ready to host everything from community gatherings to major conferences and entertainment events.
Located in a vibrant city known for its rich history, stunning waterfront, and thriving arts scene, Nyaal Banyul is a place where everyone is invited to share stories, connect, and celebrate special moments.
What you're here to do
* Traffic and freight management in a rotating bump-in, bump-out environment
* Using a forklift to assist with loading and unloading goods.
* Contractor coordination and liaison
* Checking stock arrivals with suppliers and unloading food and beverage stock items
* Maintaining storerooms - stacking, unloading, delivering stock to, departments etc
* Be available for a variety of shifts starting very early with weekends and some overnight work required.
* Upholding OHS principles.
* A valid forklift and driver's license (essential)
* Previous experience in hospitality, particularly food and beverage will be advantageous.
* Previous experience in a busy logistics environment is essential, as is working in a highly compliant organisation with strong OH&S and Quality Assurance practices.
* Handle all food and beverage deliveries, making sure everything meets food safety and HACCP standards.
* Traffic control during bump in and bump out.
