About the Role
Join Maitland Hospital as a Pharmacy Technician/Assistant, delivering safe and accurate medication services while supporting patient care across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician/Assistant to support the safe, efficient, and effective distribution of pharmaceuticals across our wards and departments. Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, you will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and play a critical role in medication supply and accurate dispensing.
About You
- Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy, or the ability to demonstrate the skills required for dispensing, distribution, stock management, and pharmaceutical preparation in a hospital setting.
- A proven ability to work collaboratively within a team, with a strong commitment to maintaining effective and respectful working relationships.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and complete delegated activities independently within your scope of practice.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and accurately in a healthcare environment.
- A strong work ethic, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to complete practical tasks efficiently, accurately, and responsibly.
Requirements
- Pharmacy Assistant Grade 1: No formal qualification.
- Pharmacy Assistant Grade 2: holds a qualification in a relevant field recognised by the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia or up to the level of Certificate III in Community Pharmacy issued by a Registered Training Organisation or has qualifications deemed by pharmacy management to be equivalent.
- Pharmacy Technician Grade 1: has successfully completed a qualification in a relevant field recognised by the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia or up to the level of Certificate III issued by a Registered Training Organisation in Hospital and Community Pharmacy (e.g. Charles Sturt University) or has qualifications deemed by the employer to be equivalent.
