Our Educators are committed to early years and primary learning that privileges First Nations culture and approaches combined with Western teaching.All Early Years Educators are expected to work within a Community Development framework and are part of integrated service delivery across Children’s Ground platforms of Cultural and Creative Development, Community Development, Economic Development, Family Health, and Learning.About YouYour experience with First Nations communities and a deep understanding of the key challenges facing First Nations Peoples, as well as their strengths, is essential.With relevant qualifications in education, you have a passion for creating welcoming, high-quality, and innovative learning and wellbeing environments, with a commitment to leading a First Nations-led approach to learning. Your collaboration skills are imperative to walking alongside our community educators and leads while offering guidance on curriculum implementation, pedagogy, and learning strategies.You are keen and energetic to join the team in open-air community halls and on bush trips each day to support the delivery of early years programs and contribute to the overall operations of Children’s Ground in support of the Children’s Ground Approach.Essential Selection CriteriaExperience with First Nations communities and a deep understanding of their strengths and the key challenges facing First Nations Peoples.Degree or recognized equivalent qualification in Education with a minimum of 1 year’s teaching experience.Experience working with Early Childhood age groups.Experience organizing a learning environment that suits different ages and abilities (multi-aged class).A passion for quality innovative learning and wellbeing environments.A commitment to leading a First Nations-led approach in education.Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative worker – teamwork, facilitation, supervision, liaison.Ability to work flexibly and creatively in a demanding NGO environment.A current full driver’s license.First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma Management training (or willingness to obtain).National police check clearance and Working with Children Check (NT Ochre card).
