About the Role
Following a period of growth, TRT Pastoral Group is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our Angus Beef team in Woolnorth, NW Tasmania.
This isn't just a role for someone who knows livestock; it's for a professional ready to step into a leadership pipeline. You will support the Farm Manager in daily operations, ensuring our high standards for animal welfare, pasture management, and safety are met every day.
Key Responsibilities
* Livestock Leadership: Oversee low-stress stock handling, processing, drafting, and comprehensive animal husbandry.
* Pasture Management: Execute rotational grazing strategies to optimise feed and animal performance.
* Operational Maintenance: Lead and assist with fence repairs, water infrastructure, and general farm upkeep.
* Machinery & Safety: Confidently operate farm vehicles/machinery and ensure the team adheres to strict Safe Operating Procedures.
* Team Support: Act as a mentor to junior staff and step up in the Manager's absence.
What You Bring to the Team
* Experience: A solid background in livestock (specifically beef) with a deep understanding of animal behavior.
* Experience Requirements: Minimum 3-5 years of livestock experience with livestock.
* Leadership Potential: You're a team player with a "can-do" attitude and the communication skills to help lead a crew.
* Reliability: A Driver's Licence is essential.
* Work Rights: Australian work rights are required for this position.
* Qualifications: While a Certificate III in Agriculture (or equivalent) and a Motorcycle Licence are preferred, your practical experience and attitude are what count most.
