Job Overview
The State Development Department seeks an Events and Marketing Coordinator to support the planning and delivery of marketing and events.
This role involves event management, venue selection, budget preparation, and development of marketing activities to promote DSD projects and priorities.
The successful candidate will have experience in project delivery and coordinating events, evaluating events and sponsorships, building networks and relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
They will also have a strong understanding of government event promotion and sponsorship guidelines and protocols, including approvals and reporting processes, with marketing best practices.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, be able to manage time, objectives and priorities; plan and coordinate concurrent projects to meet objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver event coordination support for DSD's program of events and initiatives.
* Support the development of creative concepts for events and produce branded event materials.
* Participate in meetings and decision-making, maintaining information flows between key stakeholders.
* Assist in establishing an evidence base (market research, response tracking and analysis) for all events.
* Perform post-event duties including issuing communications, collecting feedback, processing invoices, and budget reconciliation.
* Liaise with contractors, agencies and external suppliers to ensure delivery to required standards within deadlines and budget.
* Support the promotion of integrated marketing activity and consistent messaging across the department's communications.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience in project delivery and coordinating events, evaluating events and sponsorships.
* Experience building networks and relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
* Understanding and experience using event management software and digital marketing and social media platforms.
* Knowledge of Government event promotion and sponsorship guidelines and protocols, including approvals and reporting processes, with marketing best practices.
