About the Role

The Quality Care Pharmacy Program is a quality assurance program focused on continuous improvement of community pharmacy services provided to the public. It operates within a quality management system framework inclusive of business and professional standard elements, procedures and templates against which, community pharmacies can be assessed and accredited.

The Communications Manager (QCPP) is responsible for supporting and delivering communication activities and events to support the Quality Care Pharmacy Program and transition to the new program.

This is a full-time, fixed-term (12months) position and is based at the Guild's National Secretariat in Canberra.

Position Description Excerpt

Key Responsibilities include:

General Responsibilities

* Ensure all communications meet high standards for accuracy, clarity, and relevance to community pharmacies.

* Build strong relationships with internal SMEs to ensure content is technically correct and usable.

* Support proactive risk and issues management by identifying communication gaps and proposing solutions.

* Contribute to continuous improvement of communication processes, templates, and tools.

* Uphold the program's strategic goals by delivering communications that are consistent, professional, and centred around community pharmacy, and quality and safety for patients.

* Planning, drafting and editing regular, high quality written content for QCPP, industry and patient channels including for electronic direct mail, media releases, social media, website and member and industry publications.

* Supporting the coordination, production, scheduling and rollout of digital multimedia products, including video, for accredited pharmacy, industry and patient communication channels, as required and support the Communications and Marketing team.

* Developing and delivering a robust and comprehensive social media strategy for QCPP and industry channels

* Regular reporting and analysis of channel activity and ability to make recommendations for continuous improvement.

Business-as-Usual (BAU) Communications to related to QCPP

* Develop, schedule, and deliver regular communications to accredited pharmacies and other stakeholders, including newsletters, updates, alerts, and operational notices.

* Maintain clear, accurate, and timely information across all QCPP channels (website, email, social media, QCPP portal and knowledge hub).

* Coordinate content updates to guidance documents, FAQs, fact sheets, checklists, and other accreditation support materials.

* Respond to communications-related queries from accredited pharmacies and stakeholders, ensuring consistent messaging and excellent customer service.

* Support the preparation of presentations, briefing notes, and collateral for stakeholder webinars, workshops, and engagement activities.

* Monitor communication performance metrics and stakeholder feedback to improve clarity, reach, and effectiveness.

* Ensure all BAU content aligns with accreditation requirements, QCPP policies, and QCPP brand standards.

Transition to the New Program (New Name & New Scope)

* Coordinate the development and execution of a comprehensive transition communications plan for the evolution of QCPP.

* Craft clear messaging to explain the changes in program name, accreditation standard, and accreditation processes.

* Coordinate rollout of transition content including timelines, key milestones, and "what's changing" guides.

* Lead brand transition tasks: updating language, visual identity, templates, and assets across all communication channels.

* Draft targeted communications for different stakeholder groups (pharmacies, industry stakeholders (Guild branches, banner groups, etc), patients, government, regulators, external partners).

* Support internal communications to ensure the QCPP team, and program partners are aligned during the transition process.

* Lead with change-management messaging to support pharmacies through the transition, including FAQs, scripts for support teams, and readiness resources.

* Liaise with project team to ensure timely distribution of critical transition information and alignment with broader program milestones.

* Coordinate and manage QCPP events.
