Our group is expanding rapidly, both domestically and internationally, and we are seeking a highly capable Senior Company Accountant to oversee and strengthen our financial operations across multiple business units.
The Opportunity
This is not your standard accountant role. You will be responsible for the financial management of multiple entities within the group, working closely with the Owner/Founder and Executive Director to provide strategic insights, ensure compliance, and enable growth. You will be instrumental in supporting executive decision-making, managing multi-company reporting, and ensuring our financial systems support both operational excellence and rapid expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end accounting for all group entities.
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Consolidate group financials for board and investor reporting.
Ensure compliance with ATO, ASIC, and industry-specific funding and reporting requirements.
Maintain full compliance with ASQA, CRICOS, and VET Funding Contracts (e.g., Skills First, traineeships, apprenticeships).
Ensure accurate and timely reporting to government agencies, funding bodies, and regulators.
Develop and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts for all entities.
Monitor performance against budgets and provide variance analysis to executives.
Identify cost efficiencies and profitability improvement opportunities.
Work closely with the Owner and Executive Director to support strategic decision-making.
Provide financial modelling for new ventures, acquisitions, and expansions.
Oversee due diligence and integration for acquired businesses.
Review and enhance financial systems, controls, and processes to support scaling.
Implement consistent accounting practices across all entities.
Selection Criteria
Minimum 5 years' experience in senior accounting, ideally with multi-entity or group company experience.
Strong understanding of RTO/CRICOS compliance and funding requirements.
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines.
High-level communication skills, with ability to liaise confidently with executives and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in accounting software (Xero preferred) and strong Excel skills.
What We Offer
Competitive salary package commensurate with experience.
Opportunity to work directly with the Owner and Executive Director in a high-trust leadership environment.
Exposure to multiple industries with varied and challenging work.
Career growth potential in a rapidly expanding organisation.
Collaborative, ambitious, and fast-paced team culture.
