DJM Upholstery is seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our expanding team. We work closely with Riviera, Australia's most awarded luxury yacht builder, producing high‑quality upholstery for premium vessels. Due to continued growth, we are recruiting for two positions: an Upholsterer and a Trade Assistant.
Position 1: Upholsterer
About the Role
This position involves the manufacture and installation of high‑quality upholstery for luxury marine applications. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Upholstery fabrication and assembly
* Cutting, sewing, fitting, and finishing tasks
* Working to quality standards and project timelines
* Maintaining a clean and organised workspace
Skills & Experience
* Previous upholstery or trimming experience preferred
* High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
* Ability to work independently and within a team
* Strong communication and time‑management skills
* Australian citizens and permanent residents preferred
Position 2: Trade Assistant
About the Role
The Trade Assistant will support upholsterers with preparation work, workshop duties, and general assistance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop skills in a specialised trade. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with material preparation and workshop tasks
* Supporting upholsterers with day‑to‑day duties
* Maintaining tools, equipment, and workspace cleanliness
* Following instructions and adhering to safety procedures
Skills & Experience
* No prior upholstery experience required
* Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
* Good communication skills and a positive attitude
* Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
* Moderate lifting and physical demands required
