SEEKING EXPERIENCED TEACHING ARTISTS FOR DRAMA CLASSES
Perform Australia, a leading Australian drama school, is seeking energetic, fun-loving teaching artists to teach drama/acting and musical theatre skills to children and young people.
We're looking for teaching artists with a background in acting/musical theatre to deliver high quality performing arts education to the wonderful kids and teens of Canberra.
What we provide
We provide training in teaching performing arts classes to ensure you are able to deliver a high standard of education and emotional safety to our students.
In addition, a comprehensive class curriculum is provided for you to teach each week, reducing your out-of-hours preparation time before your class.
Our curriculum trains actors from a young age to understand the world of performance and what it means to be an actor, working holistically on voice, body, mind, and emotion.
Who you are
- You have or are working towards, a performing arts qualification and have some performance credits behind you
- You are a dedicated teacher, or keen to become a teacher of your art form
- You are someone who loves spending time with children - you're excited to see children and teenagers grow and develop, and you know how to speak words of positivity into their lives
- You are passionate about the positive role that drama can play in the lives of young people, in building confidence and creativity
- You know how to 'switch it on' so that every lesson is a fresh performance for you and the children in your class
- You're familiar with the demands of stage and screen
- You have an interest in directing and an understanding of theatricality
- You are able to commit for the remainder of next calendar year (2026).
