A major federal government organisation is undertaking a large‑scale transformation program and is seeking experienced Business Analysts to support multiple workstreams. You will join a high‑performing project team delivering complex digital, regulatory and process modernisation initiatives.
Your new role
As a Business Analyst, you will work closely with business SMEs, technical teams, and senior stakeholders to analyse business objectives, document detailed requirements, and ensure solutions meet organisational needs. You will guide and support other Business Analysts, contribute to complex analysis, and ensure requirements are clearly articulated for both business and technical audiences.
Key duties include:
Working with SMEs and IT teams to uncover underlying business needs through workshops and stakeholder discussions.
Documenting business, functional and non‑functional requirements using formats suitable for diverse audiences (Business, Executive, Designers, Developers and Testers).
Producing traditional requirements documentation or user stories for Agile environments.
Developing user interface designs aligned with User‑Centred Design (UCD) principles and government accessibility standards.
Creating process maps, including as‑is and to‑be process designs.
Building a strong understanding of the organisation's structure and strategy, and applying this knowledge to team deliverables.
Supporting test preparation and execution activities.
Assisting with UAT, system implementation, and the creation of user manuals and training materials.
Managing your own performance to deliver work aligned with strategic priorities and project outcomes.
Undertake additional tasks as required.
Work collaboratively and professionally, modelling values of accountability, teamwork and professionalism.
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others in the workplace.
What you'll need to succeed
Minimum NV1 or baseline clearance – mandatory
Relevant qualifications, experience and capability to deliver in a complex government environment.
Strong analytical, documentation and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
Confidence in presenting information to a wide range of audiences.
Ability to guide and support junior Business Analysts.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
High level of professionalism, accountability and collaborative working style.
Candidates in Sydney and Melbourne locations will be considered.
