About Our School Department Leadership
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to lead our school department in North Queensland.
This applicant pool is open for candidates interested in employment opportunities as a Head of Department - Student Services/Secondary/Student Engagement/Curriculum (primary, secondary, and Special schools) within the North Queensland Region. Applicants should meet the mandatory employment requirements detailed in the attached role description and discuss their application with their current supervisor regarding support and capacity to release.
Applications may be reviewed and considered throughout 2025 if vacancies are identified. Submission to this pool does not guarantee employment or assessment response. Positions may range up to a school semester in duration.
This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest, with extensions not exceeding 12 months. For longer-term vacancies, a separate EOI or advertisement may be issued via a designated platform. Relocation expenses/incentives may be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
The EOI pool may be used for short-term vacancies of 1 week to 6 months.

* Develop and Implement Educational Vision: Lead the school department to develop and implement a shared educational vision focused on quality learning outcomes for all students.
* Embed Socially Just Practices: Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
* Set Performance Standards: Set high standards for student and staff performance.
* Lifelong Learning: Participate in lifelong learning and professional development.
* Form Partnerships: Form partnerships with students, parents, government agencies, and community groups.
