Senior Manager Legal Job Description
You're a strategic thinker, eager to make a meaningful impact in a complex and dynamic environment.
In this role, you'll provide senior in-house legal support for the procurement, negotiation, and management of passenger services contracts. You'll also work closely with our team on the Battery Electric Buses program, a multi-billion dollar initiative transitioning NSW's public transport fleet to battery electric technology.
You'll be responsible for providing legal support in respect of:
* TfNSW's management and negotiation of complex passenger service contracts;
* TfNSW's procurement of new buses as part of the transition to zero emissions;
* TfNSW's delivery of bus depot infrastructure, including advising on commercial contracts relating to operations, construction, and technology; and
* Contract management support for transport operations and after project delivery.
Your legal work will play a critical role in NSW's transition to a sustainable transportation system.
This is a 3-year fixed-term position.

About the Role
We're seeking an experienced commercial or front-end construction contracts lawyer with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You'll need to convey technical legal concepts clearly and succinctly to executive audiences and have advanced problem-solving skills.
Substantial experience in all areas of commercial contracting is required, with experience advising on construction projects highly desirable but not essential.

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
* A minimum of five years' relevant legal experience and an unrestricted practising certificate;
* A proven track record working on high-value, complex commercial contracts within an in-house legal function or private practice;
* The ability to communicate and influence effectively, inspiring confidence in clients as they navigate challenging issues;
* Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and the ability to make sound decisions within a legal context;
* Ideal experience working within the government sector is beneficial;
* Passion for contributing to the future of NSW.
