Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is essential to our operations, managing contract documentation, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and facilitating smooth project delivery. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our construction projects from contract inception through to completion.
Essential Requirements
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field
* Alternatively, extensive relevant experience in contract administration within the construction industry
Experience:
* Minimum 1+ years experience in Construction Project Manager, preferably in residential construction
* Proven experience with construction contracts, variations, and claims management
* Strong knowledge of Australian construction industry standards and regulations
* Experience with contract management software and documentation systems
Skills and Competencies:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project)
* Knowledge of construction law and contractual principles
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
* Strong organizational and time management skills
Desirable Requirements
* Professional membership with relevant industry associations
* Experience with residential building codes and standards
* Knowledge of Western Australian building regulations
* Familiarity with Master Builders Association contracts
* Previous experience in the home building industry
Key Responsibilities
* Overseeing the allocation, coordination, and prioritisation of resources across multiple construction projects
* Reviewing and analysing architectural plans, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure project requirements are met
* Managing procurement processes and coordinating the supply and delivery of materials, equipment, and plant resources
* Liaising with architects, engineers, consultants, and technical and trade personnel to ensure effective project execution
* Coordinating inter-project dependencies while monitoring timelines, costs, quality standards, budgets, and risk factors
* Engaging and negotiating with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders throughout all stages of the project lifecycle
* Preparing, evaluating, and managing tenders, contracts, and bid submissions
* Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, safety regulations, and industry performance standards
* Managing approvals and submissions to local authorities and coordinating inspections with relevant stakeholders
* Leading and supervising project teams and subcontractors to ensure quality, progress, and timely delivery of project outcomes
* Managing project variations, change processes, and implementation strategies
* Developing and maintaining detailed project plans to ensure alignment with organisational objectives and desired project outcomes
