Job Overview
The Machine Designer Professional plays a crucial role in creating and ensuring the quality of designs for Power Generation, Combined Cycle Gas Turbine, and Combined Heat and Power Projects.
This position reports to the Project Manager and is responsible for coordinating, creating, and reviewing Mechanical designs, ensuring quality documentation is submitted.
Capture, track, and implement design improvements are also part of the responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Review mechanical engineering designs, including P&I diagrams, general arrangements, isometrics, foundation drawings, structural drawings, design philosophies, etc.
* Familiarity with gas and steam turbine construction, such as skids, modules, piping, valves, structures, etc.
* Knowledge of main power plant auxiliary components, including Lubrication system, Fuel Gas system, Air cooling systems, and other auxiliary equipment.
* Evaluate mechanical system designs for compliance with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
* Effectively coordinate support to field engineers, including clarification of procedures for equipment supplied by corporate.
* Correctly interpret and apply codes and standards and customer design requirements to prepare mechanical erection and commissioning procedures, specifications, material requests, and system descriptions related to supplied equipment.
* Conduct extensive document and design verification to deliver a complete set of mechanical designs deliverables.
* Manage time efficiently to meet submission dates.

* Plan and create Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and manage the internal CAPA (Corrective Action, Preventive Action) system for team processes.
* Elaborate technical reports, presentations, and detailed research documentation for all projects and initiatives related to Mechanical discipline.
* Support and provide design clarification on construction sites to ensure projects are constructed according to specific designs and local standards.
* Evaluate projects for conformance to federal, state, local, and company engineering standards and specifications.
* Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in Mechanical Design.
* Strong knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
