About The Role

Our Painters are responsible for delivering efficient, cost‑effective painting and minor building maintenance across Council facilities and public spaces. As part of the Facilities and Asset Management team, our painters deliver proactive and reactive maintenance programs across Council facilities, supporting safe, welcoming and well‑maintained spaces for the Central Coast community -work you can see, be proud of, and that makes a real difference every day.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key Activities Of This Role Include

Deliver routine and programmed maintenance painting to agreed standards, timeframes and budgets.Respond to urgent repair work, including graffiti removal and rectifying paint damage across Council premises and public spaces.Prepare accurate costings and estimates to support well‑planned, value‑for‑money project delivery.Plan and coordinate materials and resources to achieve quality finishes and efficient outcomes.Complete minor tasks associated with other trades (where trained/qualified) to minimise costs and downtime.Support preventative maintenance planning and scheduling.Work safely and comply with relevant legislation, industry standards and Council policies and procedures.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (or a related field),orsolid contemporary experience in a similar role with ongoing professional developmentValid Construction General Induction card (White Card) – SafeWork NSW or equivalentCurrent Class C Driver’s LicenceA customer‑focused approach and pride in delivering a high standard of finishStrong safety mindset, reliability, and the ability to plan your work and meet deadlines

Other Important Information

The commencing salary for this position is up to $70.7K. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $81.9K on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus12% superannuation and Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions allowance.We have a permanent full-time role availableThis role will be able to access a 9 day fortnightThis role is located at the Long Jetty Depot but will be required to work from multiple locations as business needs require

Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
