Job Description

What we are looking for

We are seeking an experienced and thoughtful communicator who is passionate about storytelling that inspires impact.

Reporting to the Chief of Philanthropy, this role sits within UNICEF Australia's Philanthropy team and is responsible for creating compelling communications that bring our work – and the impact of philanthropic support – to life. Through powerful storytelling, high-quality reporting and engaging content, you will help deepen relationships with high value partners and inspire continued and increased investment in UNICEF's work.

With ambitious fundraising targets ahead, this role plays an important part in supporting the retention of existing philanthropic partners while helping the team attract new supporters.

Your day will include

* Developing high-quality communications for high value donors and philanthropic prospects, including impact reports, stories, program summaries and digital content
* Translating technical program and emergency information into clear, engaging and donor-focused narratives
* Partnering closely with philanthropy colleagues to deliver tailored communications that support partner engagement and stewardship
* Producing impact reporting for philanthropic and faith-based partnerships throughout the year
* Supporting high value brand initiatives and content that strengthens UNICEF Australia's profile with philanthropic audiences
* Collaborating with internal teams and global UNICEF colleagues to source stories, images and program insights

We would like you to have the following skills and experience

* At least five years' professional writing experience across communications, fundraising, marketing, copywriting or related fields
* Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling stories that inspire action
* Strong ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, engaging content
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Experience developing communications for donors, stakeholders or external audiences (experience in the not-for-profit sector is highly valued)
* Confidence working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality outputs
* Experience with InDesign or similar design tools would be highly regarded.
