About The Opportunity
Consumer and Business Services (CBS) is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to oversee a team of investigators and drive high-quality investigation and inspection outcomes. Reporting to the Assistant Commissioner, Compliance, Enforcement and Advice, the General Manager Investigations will be responsible for leading and enhancing CBS's investigation and inspection functions, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and regulatory obligations.
This pivotal role will provide strategic direction, operational oversight, and continuous improvement to the delivery of investigation and inspection services. With strong stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities, the successful candidate will collaborate across multiple business units and management teams to ensure efficient, effective, and consistent investigative practices.

About The Business
The Attorney-General's Department (AGD) provides a range of legal, regulatory and other services for the government and people of South Australia. Employing around 1500 staff, AGD promotes justice by protecting people's rights, holding people to account according to the law, improving safety and contributing to an efficient and fair justice system.
Consumer and Business Services (CBS) is a division of the Attorney-General's Department and is responsible for protecting consumers, supporting and regulating businesses and recording significant life events for South Australians. CBS is customer focussed and flexible in its activities, providing accessible information and services.
The General Manager Investigations operates within a complex, sensitive and changing environment and is required to exercise discretion, initiative and a high-level of judgement under limited direction.
This role contributes to the strategic goals of CBS through strategic and operational oversight of critical investigations. The role is required to work closely with other CBS managers, senior officers across AGD, stakeholders across government and other relevant jurisdictions.

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
Some out of hours work may be required.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
Must hold a current Australian issued driver's licence (equivalent to minimum class C).
