Selection Criteria
SC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum incorporating literacy and numeracy skills. Experienced in responding to student learning needs.
SC2 Experience in planning implementing teaching strategies guided by how students learn, evaluating the impact of learning and teaching on student growth.
SC3 Interpersonal communication skills experience in monitoring assessing student learning using data to inform teaching practice and providing feedback.
SC4 Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values experience in reflecting upon practice engaging in professional learning to improve teaching quality.
Role
The classroom teacher focuses on planning preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes. Engages in critical reflection inquiry to improve knowledge skills effectively engaging students and improving their learning.
As the classroom teacher gains experience contribution to the school program beyond the classroom increases. Teachers may undertake other duties appropriate to their salary range qualifications experience.
Classroom teachers assist the school to improve student performance educational outcomes determined by the strategic plan and state-wide priorities. Contribute to the development implementation of school policies and priorities.
A critical component will focus on increasing the knowledge base of staff about student learning high quality instruction.
Responsibilities
The role includes but is not limited to direct teaching of groups individual students contributing to curriculum development evaluation undertaking organisational duties participating in parent/teacher meetings staff meetings camps excursions.
Who May Apply
Teachers currently registered eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching qualified to teach or demonstrated experience in the curriculum area.

Qualification Requirements
To be eligible for employment transfer promotion provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching postgraduate level initial teacher education program accredited by an Australian State or Territory Teacher Regulatory Authority literacy and numeracy test requirements satisfied.
