About the role: We’re looking for a motivated and skilled Senior Supervisor to join our government-based construction, building and maintenance department on a contract basis in Cairns. In this role, you’ll be part of a team that maintains and delivers essential building and maintenance services across Queensland. You’ll play a key role in supporting the safe and reliable operation of the state’s schools, hospitals, housing, and government facilities. Position overview: Monitoring and reviewing project standards using effective work order management techniques that monitor and report to stakeholders on the status and quality of service, project delivery, and expenditure, and achieve compliance with industry best practice and agreed cost and time parameters. Managing regional resources to effectively deliver construction, maintenance and upgrade projects ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and practices. Providing a high level of supervisory services in respect to the delivery of construction, maintenance and upgrade work undertaken by QBuild. Provide a level of supervisory services in respect to the delivery of service maintenance “Hard Contracts”, facilities and traditional works relating to these contracts, including assisting in planning and delivery of projects and supervision of contractors. Maintaining a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety. Promoting QBuild products and services to existing and prospective clients through regular meetings and established forums and identifying opportunities for new business services based on emerging trends in asset management. Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff. Planning and delivering projects through the efficient supervision and development of office staff, field staff and subcontractors and the effective management of resources such as plant and equipment, depots and motor vehicles.
