About the role

Civcon Civil & Project Management Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Engineer to join our dynamic team on one of our regional projects on a 10/4 roster. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the technical aspects of project delivery. You will play a critical part in ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. This is a permanent full-time position and offers the opportunity to work on significant infrastructure and construction projects whilst contributing to the strategic growth and success of Civcon.

Key responsibilities

* Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines and budgets for assigned projects
* Coordinate and supervise project teams including contractors, consultants and internal staff to ensure effective execution
* Monitor project progress against agreed milestones and deliverables, identifying and mitigating risks
* Prepare and manage project documentation, including method statements and compliance records
* Liaise with clients, stakeholders and regulatory authorities to ensure project objectives are understood and met
* Conduct site inspections and quality audits to verify that works comply with design standards and contractual requirements
* Manage variations, change orders and contractual claims in accordance with project agreements
* Prepare progress reports, financial forecasts and performance metrics for senior management and clients
* Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant legislation, standards and safety requirements
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned documentation

What we're looking for

* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline
* Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in project engineering, preferably in civil or infrastructure projects
* Proficiency with project management software and tools (such as Microsoft Project, Primavera or similar)
* Strong understanding of Australian Standards, building codes and relevant regulatory requirements
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams
* Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines and resources efficiently
* Problem‐solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
* Full clean driving licence
* Experience with contract administration and commercial management is advantageous
