About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Department of Rehabilitation.
This temporary position is covering leave within the department until March 2027.
Provision of clinical services to patients designated as under your direct care, to outpatients and to patients you are asked to consult in Rehabilitation Medicine, including:
* Managing approximately 8 inpatients at Sacred Heart Health Service;
* Undertake two ward rounds per week (one of these preceding or following a case conference);
* Assessing patients and developing goal oriented management plans, in conjunction with patients/carers and appropriate members of the multidisciplinary team, which specify type and intensity of therapeutic input and timed and measurable outcomes;
* Improving outcomes, minimising overall lengths of stay and facilitating the provision of best possible clinical care.
* Participate in teaching and research duties;
* Participate in the on-call roster for the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine.
* Supervision of the Rehabilitation Medicine Registrars attached to the service;
* Participation in peer review, and case review meetings, as well as all academic and teaching meeting within the Department of Rehabilitation;

Selection Criteria:
* Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia.
* Must hold a Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine and current registration with AHPRA
* Hold a current unrestricted drivers licence
* Understand the complexities and challenges of providing rural healthcare
* Knowledge of, and relevant clinical experience and expertise in adult rehabilitation with an emphasis on trauma rehabilitation, amputee care, brain injury and orthopaedic care.
* Expertise in the management of complex Rehabilitation clients with demonstrated use of evidence based practice in relation to clinical practice
* Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to lead and work within and lead a multi-disciplinary team
* Experience and expertise in development of learning resources for rehabilitation clients
