**About the Role**
The Communications and Engagement Manager is responsible for managing community and stakeholder communications and engagement activities for projects developed and delivered across Metro Melbourne. To access the **Position Description, please click here.**

- Expert skills in developing and implementing significant community consultation and stakeholder engagement programs across a diverse portfolio.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and manage issues that could impact on organisational reputation or achievement of strategic objectives.
- Ability to oversee programs of work with excellent project management skills and experience working on complex communication and engagement projects.
- Ability to provide expert advice to business areas and senior management on strategic engagement opportunities to support activities, projects and programs undertaken by DoT and the Victorian Government.
- Ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop a team in effective and best practice community engagement, communication and stakeholder management.
**Position Outcomes**
- Lead the development and delivery of community and stakeholder communications and engagement activities focused on programs and opportunities across metropolitan Melbourne.
- Develop effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to understand broader policy and localised issues, meet and manage community expectations, collaborate on opportunities for improvement and resolve community and stakeholder concerns.
- Provide expert communications advice to internal stakeholders, including Metropolitan Transport Services and project-based staff, to guide external engagement, build positive relationships and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Proactively lead research and analysis activities to understand and respond to critical issues that impact on project and program delivery, community expectations, and DoT external reputation.
**Qualifications and Experience**
**Mandatory**
- An appropriate tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in engagement, public relations, communications, education or a similar discipline.
**Desirable**
- International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) accreditation or a similar qualification.
