Due to expansive growth in the construction industry and a growing portfolio of work, Verkan Group is seeking a Company Accountant to become a key part in shaping the future of our business alongside an experienced team. You will be based in our Melbourne Head Office (Mount Waverley) and employed on a permanent basis.
The key responsibilities:
1. Preparation and responsibility of Management Accounts
2. Financial analysis and insight
3. Provide accurate, timely, relevant financial information to leadership team
4. Manage AR and AP processes with support
5. Preparation of Statutory Obligations
6. Balance Sheet Reconciliations
7. Capex
8. EBA and Payroll Awards Interpretation
9. Assistance with payroll for approximately 150
10. Overseeing the Finance team but not afraid to be hands-on if needed
11. Experience with the construction industry would be beneficial
A little about you:
1. Degree Qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business Management
2. Minimum of 3 years work experience
3. Effective/efficient communication skills (verbal and written)
4. High level of attention to detail and accuracy
5. Intermediate to advanced ability using Microsoft Excel
6. Accountable, delivers on promises and follows through on commitments even in challenging circumstances.
