Hudson Jones are partnering with one of Australia's leading commercial construction and maintenance companies, seeking a dynamic and passionate Construction Maintenance Estimator (CME) to successfully tender and negotiate commercial project works while ensuring accurate estimates of the total cost of allocated projects are completed on time, and in accordance with required technical standards. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: A new opportunity has arisen for a CME to contribute to setting tender programs and allocation of resourcing budgets while ensuring each tender is evaluated to allow for reasonable coverage of risk. The CME will be quoting minor construction works in the value range of $150k - $3m, and expected to ensure all the division’s activities comply with OH&S standards, relevant Acts, legal demands and ethical standards and include cost implications in tenders, budgets and cost plans. CORE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Estimating Business Development/Building Client Relationships Financial/Contract Administration ABOUT THE DAY TO DAY: Comply with Client specified safety standards/ requirements. Evaluate proposed contract conditions during tender and ensure tender includes the appropriate response. To successfully tender or negotiate commercial project works generating sales with margins to meet or exceed goals Ensure each tender is evaluated to allow for reasonable coverage of risk. Contribute to setting tender program and allocation of resourcing budget. Develop relationships with key high-level industry professionals. Take a non-adversarial approach to issue resolution with clients. Evaluate bid specifications and reviewing plans and drawing. Communicate and work effectively with Submission Coordinator/s. ABOUT YOU: Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Candidates with a trade background would be considered highly desirable (but not essential) A background in Estimating minor construction works and repair/maintenance works Strong negotiation and communication skills Keen eye for detail and excellent financial skills Position Type: This is a permanent/full-time opportunity that is open to Australian citizens and permanent residents, and applicants holding a valid Australian visa with full working rights.
