About the role
The Database Administrator is responsible for the day‐to‐day management of the organisation's databases performance, integrity and security and ensuring changes and queries are addressed in accordance with the needs of customers.
This role focuses on managing MSSQL on‐premise, Azure and AWS cloud platforms and migrating to the cloud.
Responsibilities
* Manage day‐to‐day database performance, integrity and security.
* Ensure database changes and queries address customer needs.
* Maintain MSSQL on‐premise, Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
* Plan and execute migrations to the cloud.
About You
You have experience managing multiple large database systems and have maintained them to deliver a high level of performance and reliability. You have detailed experience in implementing security best practices, troubleshooting and resolving performance related problems, and implementing new configurations to deliver a high level of reliability. You take steps to ensure the long‐term integrity of the organisation's data.
Your strong communication skills and approachable personality allow you to work effectively with technical and non‐technical teams during planned and unplanned outages, upgrades and installations. You enjoy supporting your team and contribute to a shared sense of direction while implementing effective technical and procedural improvements. You have a holistic view of the technical needs of your customers and can prioritise competing workload and complex database issues with project support.
Qualifications and Experience
* Hands‐on experience with contemporary database platforms including Microsoft SQL and cloud Azure and AWS SQL Server database platforms.
* Experience in automation, supporting large databases that underpin business critical applications.
* Proficiency in T‐SQL and PowerShell scripting.
