WaterNSW is seeking an experienced Lead Project Manager - Renewals Rural (Full-Time, Permanent) to join our Project Delivery Renewal - Rurals team. As a Lead Project Manager, you will lead a high‐performing team of project professionals to deliver critical asset projects that make a real impact. You will drive the successful delivery of multiple, complex asset projects, and balance scope, time, cost and quality using WaterNSW's proven project delivery frameworks and tools. You'll hold end‐to‐end accountability for outcomes, leading and coordinating internal teams and external specialist partners to achieve results. What you'll do
* Lead and Develop Project Teams: Manage and mentor a team including Project Managers, Project Engineers, Construction Managers/Site Supervisors, Site Engineers, Project Officers and others to deliver asset renewal projects, ensuring clear accountabilities, high performance, and capability growth.
* Deliver Project Outcomes: Lead and support the delivery of multiple projects from detailed planning through design, approvals, construction, commissioning, and handover, ensuring optimal solutions that meet time, cost, quality, and benefits realisation objectives.
* Resource and Contract Management: Secure and manage internal and external resources to meet project requirements. Lead negotiation and administration of consultancy and construction contracts, ensuring compliance, performance, and value for money.
* Align with Strategy and Stakeholders: Work closely with and provide support to the Program Manager and engage internal and external stakeholders to align project delivery with strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and community expectations.
* Project Control and Governance: Oversee project performance across schedule, cost, quality, WHS, environmental, and financial outcomes, ensuring risks and issues are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
What we are looking for
* Tertiary qualifications in business, commercial or engineering disciplines, and post graduate qualifications or equivalent experience in project management.
* Demonstrated experience leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams across planning, design and/or construction delivery within the infrastructure and utilities sectors, including supporting Program Managers to achieve program outcomes through effective leadership, coordination, and people management.
* Extensive professional experience in Project Management (preferably in infrastructure-based projects), with demonstrated experience in delivering multiple projects of asset-based projects (preferably from a client perspective) and/or delivery of standalone complex, high risk or large multi-disciplinary projects.
* Experience in successfully managing contracts with consultancies and construction contractors to deliver desired outcomes efficiently and effectively, with solid understanding of regulatory and planning requirements as they relate to the delivery of capital projects. Proven ability to manage a range of different stakeholders and their potentially conflicting needs to obtain agreement on actions and outcomes. Current NSW Drivers Licence.
