Contract Overview
Role title: Senior Planner
Location: Government Agency in Parramatta (hybrid - office & WFH)
Rate: $***** per hour + super (PAYG) / $***** flat (ABN)
Duration: 12 months to start asap but will wait for the right candidate to give notice etc.
Hours: 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week
Work pattern: 5 days WFH per fortnight.
Required office days: Tuesday & Thursday (plus an additional day in office at candidate's discretion)
Licence: Current Driver's Licence required
About the Role
This Senior Planner position sits within the Assessment Team of a NSW Government Agency in Parramatta.
The team provides planning advice and guides projects from inception through to approval, supporting the delivery of housing and related projects.
Providing expert planning advice on a range of development and infrastructure projects
Preparing high-quality Statements of Environmental Effects (SEEs) and Review of Environmental Factors (REFs)
Managing planning assessments, with a strong focus on residential development
Participating in and sometimes leading internal and external stakeholder meetings
Working collaboratively with colleagues across Homes NSW and other Government agencies to achieve project outcomes
Contributing to team milestones, reporting and deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met
Candidate Background
You will report to a Team Leader within the Assessment Team and play a key role in shaping and progressing projects that deliver social and affordable housing outcomes.
Tertiary qualifications in urban/regional planning or a related discipline, or equivalent planning experience
A strong background in residential development assessment
Experience preparing SEEs and REFs, with Part 5 assessment experience highly desirable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise reports and briefing material
Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment, managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines
Demonstrated experience engaging with a range of stakeholders, including internal teams and other Government agencies
Eligibility for membership of a relevant professional planning association (desirable)
A current Driver's Licence
