This role supports the delivery of high quality parks, gardens and open space across local councils. You will work in a skilled and supportive horticulture team maintaining gardens, landscapes and public spaces while providing excellent customer service to our community.
What You Will Do
* Maintain gardens, parks, streetscapes and open space including planting, pruning, mulching, weed control and general horticultural tasks
* Operate horticultural equipment such as brush cutters, hedge trimmers, blowers, chainsaws and spray units
* Maintain tools and equipment in safe working order
* Follow programmed maintenance schedules using in field devices and emerging technology
* Assist with hazard identification, safety reporting and basic make safe responses
* Liaise with the public and provide friendly, helpful customer service
* Support nursery operations as required
Who You Are
* You have experience in horticulture, garden maintenance or landscape operations
* You are confident operating small plant and equipment
* You enjoy working outdoors, contributing to a team and delivering high quality results
* You are an excellent communicator with a strong customer focus
* You can assess situations, solve problems and know when to seek guidance
* You take pride in safe work practices and maintaining quality standards
What You Bring
* Horticultural qualification or equivalent experience
* Demonstrated knowledge of horticultural maintenance techniques
* Experience operating plant and equipment used in landscape maintenance
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong time management and organisational skills
* Current Victorian Drivers Licence, Light Rigid desirable
