The Opportunity
MCS are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Laboratory Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory procedures, with hands-on experience in handling equipment, preparing samples, and performing accurate tests and analyses. A solid understanding of safety protocols, quality control, and standard operating procedures is essential. The candidate should possess excellent organizational and record-keeping skills, as well as the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills, a commitment to maintaining high standards, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are also key qualities we are looking for in this role.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following qualifications, experience and abilities:
* Working within the requirements of our quality systems and accreditation procedures, including field & laboratory testing, equipment maintenance, calibration and quality control
* Effective communication with our clients and within our MCS Laboratory team.
* Strong commitment to OH&S
* Good all-round computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office
* An ability to work cohesively within a team driven environment
* A current Australian driver's licence
* White/Blue general induction card
* An ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug screen are essential
* Experience in a CMT Technician role (minimum of 12 months experience preferred).
* Relevant NATA-recognized qualifications.
