This role can be based in Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, or Brisbane offices.
As the Structural Director for our Water Infrastructure team, you will provide technical leadership and governance for structural scopes across major water programs. Your role will involve leading the structural design process from concept through detailed design and delivery support, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and client requirements. You will champion digital delivery and quality, advancing model‐based coordination and analysis workflows to enhance productivity. In addition to managing scope, risk, and program delivery, you will mentor and develop talent within the team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. By partnering with clients and delivery teams, you will shape bids and execution plans, maintaining strong, long‐term relationships that drive successful project outcomes. Your expertise will be pivotal in delivering resilient and sustainable water infrastructure solutions across Australia.
How you'll make a difference
* Lead structural engineering for major water infrastructure programs from concept to delivery.
* Set design strategies and ensure compliance with Australian codes and client standards.
* Conduct design reviews and inspections, providing construction phase support.
* Champion structural excellence for water retaining/process structures (e.g., tanks, pump stations).
* Drive digital delivery and quality through model‐based coordination and automation.
* Mentor and grow talent, providing technical guidance and development pathways.
* Collaborate across regions to enhance structural capability and client outcomes.
* Manage scope, risk, and budgets to deliver on‐time, sustainable results.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering; RPEQ and/or CPEng preferred.
* Experience in structural design for water retaining/process structures to Australian standards.
* Proven leadership of project/technical teams with strong communication skills.
* Proficient in FEA and structural design software for complex analysis.
* Passion for mentoring and developing others in a collaborative environment.
* Expertise in Australian Standards (e.g., AS 3600, AS 5100) and digital delivery methods.
