 
        
        Facilities Maintenance Director
The Facilities Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing the upkeep of buildings, plant, and equipment to ensure optimal function and safety. This role combines trade expertise with team coordination and strategic asset management.
Key Responsibilities
 * Lead and supervise a team of maintenance personnel, contractors, and external trades.
 * Develop and manage site maintenance schedules and preventative programs.
 * Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, aged care standards, and organizational policies.
 * Monitor maintenance budgets and contribute to strategic planning for capital works and asset upgrades.
Facilities and Grounds Maintenance
 * Oversee the upkeep of buildings, plant, and equipment to ensure optimal function and safety.
 * Coordinate and conduct general repairs, preventative, and corrective maintenance.
 * Ensure timely and effective response to maintenance requests and safety concerns.
 * Maintain the health and appearance of lawns, gardens, and outdoor areas.
Tool, Asset, and Compliance Management
 * Maintain an accurate asset register and ensure all maintenance documentation is up-to-date.
 * Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of tools, machinery, and hazardous substances.
 * Lead preparation for accreditation and audits relating to facilities and infrastructure.
Team Collaboration and Communication
 * Foster a culture of safety, respect, and teamwork within the maintenance team.
 * Liaise with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
 * Promote the role and function of the organization within the local community, residents, and families.
 * Availability to work on a rotating on-call basis as required.
Qualifications and Experience
 * Trade qualification or extensive experience in a similar facilities management role.
 * Proven leadership and team coordination experience.
 * Sound understanding of building compliance, occupational health and safety, and asset management.
 * Physical ability to perform manual tasks and safely operate tools and machinery.
 * Current driver's license.
 * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
 * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
 * Basic computer literacy, email, asset systems, maintenance logs.
 * Understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards desirable.
