About the Role
You will be a vital part of our small but dynamic team, managing both internal HR processes and our wide network of subcontractors. This role requires someone who enjoys working in a people-focused environment, is confident with systems and compliance, and can be both responsive and proactive in supporting our day-to-day and strategic operations.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate job vacancy announcements and manage end-to-end recruitment for employees and subcontractors
Assist with interviewing, candidate screening, and onboarding activities
Maintain HR and contractor records and manage updates across personnel and subcontractor databases
Provide practical advice to managers on performance matters, staff development, and conflict resolution
Guide new staff through induction, ensuring they understand company policies, work conditions, and development opportunities
Manage employment documentation and support the consistent application of company policies and procedures
Liaise with project managers to ensure subcontractor arrangements align with employment standards and safety protocols
Support the review and development of company policies, agreements, and dispute resolution processes
Monitor compliance with employment laws, Fair Work requirements, and relevant awards or contracts
Participate in employee engagement activities and help drive a positive workplace culture
What You'll Bring
Minimum of 4 years' experience in a Human Resources or related role
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a relevant field
Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and HR practices, including subcontractor oversight
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a practical and solutions-focused mindset
Experience in the construction or residential building sector (desirable)
High level of accuracy in record-keeping and familiarity with HRIS tools
