About the role

The Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton is seeking applications for a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to work within our PACU unit within the Operating room complex in permanent, full-time or part time position.

Shifts are predominately Monday to Friday, but some weekend shifts may be required. On-call responsibilities are also a feature of this role.

Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton's perioperative services comprise five operating complexes, seven recovery bays and a central sterilising Unit.The Theatre Complex provides pre- and post-operative recovery room care and specialised endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures. The surgical case mix includes orthopaedic, obstetric, gynecologic, ENT, oral, urology, paediatric, general, bariatric, vascular, spinal and ophthalmic surgery.

Our Perioperative Registered Nurses use extensive experience to provide essential support to our patients and Clinical Nurses in activities designed to aid the sustainability of the department and assist with the progression of service improvement.

Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:

* Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care while acting as patient advocate
* Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients during perioperative journey
* Provided effective management of postoperative complications
* Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
* Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

About you

To be successful in this position, you will possess:

* Currently AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
* Demonstrated nursing experience within a perioperative setting or have transferable skills that can be developed with professional training
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skills
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Demonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles
* Be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or have a perioperative ANMAC occupation code for sponsorship purposes
