Position Title: Disability Support Worker
About the Role Position Purpose
To provide person-centred disability support under NDIS standards, ensuring safety, dignity, independence, and quality of life for participants in Supported Independent Living (SIL), community access, Short Term Accommodation (STA), and daily living environments.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist participants with personal care needs (showering, dressing, grooming, toileting).
* Provide Assistance with Daily Living including meal preparation, laundry, and household tasks.
* Support participants in Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments.
* Provide support during Short Term Accommodation (STA) and respite.
* Facilitate social, community, and recreational participation.
* Assist with behavioural support under Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
* Support health-related needs including medication (as per training/policy).
* Monitor participant wellbeing and report changes promptly.
* Maintain accurate documentation (shift notes, incident reports, progress notes).
* Follow NDIS safeguarding policies, duty of care, and incident reporting requirements.
* Transport participants safely to appointments and community activities.
* Promote independence, confidence-building, and life skills development.
* Work collaboratively with team leaders, nurses, and coordinators.
Skills and Experience Required
* Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or equivalent.
* 6–12 months experience in disability, aged care, or community support.
* Experience with complex needs (desirable).
* First Aid, CPR, and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
* Manual handling and medication support competency (preferred).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Pay: $76,515.00 – $80,000.00 per year
